Turning Bush Into Butter By William

It was an informal photograph.


The photo on the page 9 was much more formal. It was also taken when new technology made it easier to photograph what went on in the world outside the studio.
I can see the cows, the cat and the dogs in this picture.
Mother is milking  the cows.
The nationality of this family is Maori.
The photographer is Edward George Child.

The native bush were being destroyed and fire was a quicker way of  getting  rid of native bushes.

The 2 stories this photograph show,that  the hard work that went into making and running a farm – but also the impact of that hard work on our forests.


The sight of the background was so common in the 1890s.

A Rare Koala Bear by Braydon

Koala, a bear,  from a zoo in Australia is   the main  character in this news article. This  is a rare white koala and  it been born in  Queensland zoo.    
She is not albino. Keepers at the zoo say her fur is due to a recessive gene inherited from her mother.
It has not named yet. But  the zookeepers  have got some names like Pearl, Sugar, Lily, Snow White and Baringa.
This event  took place on 24 in August 2017.

Chantek, was taught by a trainer who raised him like her own child, was being treated for heart disease.

Visit to the Dentist by William





Last week I went to the dentist with my class.I was bit nervous but felt ok after while. The dentist told me that my teeth are very good. I am brushing twice a day to keep my teeth nice and healthy.

1. Why is a desert dry?
Because there is so little rain.


2. How much of the earth's land area is desert?
Almost one third of the earth land area is desert.


3. Which desert is the hottest place on earth?
The Sahara Desert is the hottest place on earth. 



4. When do camels close their nostrils?

To keep out blowing sand and dust camels close their nostrils.

5. Why do you think camels can survive in deserts?
Camels store fat in their hump. 




I do not like to live in a desert because it is very hot.
